According to Star magazine, Galifianakis befriended Haist in 1994 when she worked at his local laundromat, Fox Coin Laundry, in Santa Monica.Two years ago, the comedian found out that Haist was homeless, so he bought her a one-bedroom, one bathroom apartment.Galifianakis has paid the rent and utilities for the home for the last two years and reportedly enlisted actress Renee Zellweger to help decorate the space.
